Natural Horn Study at University of Iowa

For a comprehensive knowledge of the horn today, it is important to have an understanding of the natural horn and its rich history of performance and composition. The University of Horn Studio is fortunate to have three (soon four) Seraphinoff natural horns + crooks, plus several modern horn conversions to natural horns. Everyone has a chance to acquire experience playing natural horn during their time at UI.

Interested grads may arrange extra lessons on natural horn from Kristin Thelander, planning director for the School of Music and internationally renowned performer and recording artist on the natural horn.
